Block Shield Announces Agreement with Ramtron International Corporation

Block Shield announced today an agreement between its Rfidium RFID group and Ramtron International Corporation (Nasdaq: RMTR), a leading developer and supplier of nonvolatile ferroelectric random access memory (F-RAM) and integrated semiconductor products. The agreement is to collaboratively develop and test prototype RFID antenna inlays utilizing Ramtron's new line of high-memory, EPC Class1 Gen 2 RFID chips. 

'We evaluated many suppliers of RFID antenna inlay design and production services, and found Rfidium's proprietary manufacturing processes provide the best combination of design prototyping to volume production,' said Danny Secrest, senior marketing manager at Ramtron International Corporation. 

As part of the agreement, Rfidium will deliver near-field and far-field UHF antenna designs to Ramtron's specifications, producing prototype samples in aluminum with Ramtron chips, and performing inlay characterization and qualification.
