NOTIFICATION OF TRANSACTIONS OF DIRECTORS, PERSONS DISCHARGING MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITY OR CONNECTED PERSONS

In line with recent guidance by the FSA on the disclosure of security over shares Daejan Holdings PLC gives notice in accordance with Disclosure and Transparency Rule 3.1.4R(1) that Mr Benzion Schalom Eliezer Freshwater, Chairman of the Company, pledged 100,000 shares in 1980 and a further 150,000 shares on 16 May 1985 to Lloyds TSB Bank Plc. These shares remain pledged but the facility to which they relate has not been drawn upon for many years. This notification is given in the light of the recent clarification as although the company has maintained a record of the transaction in accordance with Model Code, due to passage of time, there is no evidence of it having been previously announced.
