Appointment of Non-Executive Director
Beacon Hill Resources Plc (AIM: BHR) today announces the appointment of Mr. Geoffrey Chalmers to the Board as a Non-Executive Director.
Mr. Chalmers, aged 72, is a lawyer in private practice in Boston, USA, where he is a member of the bar in Massachusetts and New York and also holds a FINRA supervisor's license. He counsels a number of brokerage firms, investment advisers, banking and other financial institutions on securities law and compliance issues, as well as in legal aspects of public and private securities offerings, including investment companies, hedge funds, venture capital firms and emerging companies.
From 1996 through the sale of the business to BNP Paribas in 2005 he acted as chief outside legal counsel to FundQuest Incorporated, an investment management firm with over $15 billion in assets under management, specialising in asset allocation strategies for many of America's largest financial institutions. Prior to 1996 Mr. Chalmers held the position of Vice President, General Counsel and Director of Compliance for Commonwealth Financial Network, Inc, a FINRA registered broker dealer and SEC registered adviser.
Prior to this Mr. Chalmers served in a variety of counsel positions, including Vice President and General Counsel to Liberty Real Estate, Inc., a wholly-owned real estate subsidiary of Liberty Mutual. Mr. Chalmers started practice in New York City with Cravath, Swaine & Moore and also served in Washington, D.C. in the SEC Division of Corporation Finance.
Mr. Chalmers is a graduate of Harvard College and Columbia Law School and has an MBA in finance from New York University.
Mr. Chalmers is a director of Woodstock Financial Group, Inc which is an investment advisory firm quoted on the bulletin board in the USA. He has held this position since 2003.
