Newsham House Update - Charges Stayed


ADL plc ("ADL" or the "Company")

ADL plc, the owner and operator of residential care homes, is pleased to
announce that the charges brought by the Crown Prosecution Service against the
Company, Jeremy Davies - Managing Director, Pearl Jackson - Operations
Director, Derek Youds - ex Manager at Newsham House, Gloucester, and Heather
Bolton - Deputy Manager (together "the Defendants") have been stayed by His
Honour Judge Ticehurst at Bristol Crown Court.

Costs have been awarded to the Defendants.

The Board now wishes to devote its time to repair the damage done to the
credibility of the Company, its management and value to the shareholders.

ADL expects to release its interim results for the six months ended 30
September 2008 by 31 December 2008.
