                                 BOARD CHANGES                                 

The Board of Newmarket Investments plc (the "Company") announce that John
Carrington has stepped down as Chairman of the Company with immediate effect.
Mr Carrington will continue to serve as a non-executive director of the
Company.

Stewart "Ross" Jones (also known as Andrew Stewart Ross Jones), who was
appointed non-executive director on 11 July 2007, has been appointed
Non-executive Chairman with immediate effect.

There are no further details required to be disclosed pursuant to AIM Rule 17.
