Possible Offer for Macro 4 PLC ('Macro 4')

Further to the announcement made by Unicom on 13 October 2008, UNICOM confirms that if and in the event an offer is made by UNICOM for the entire issued ordinary share capital of Macro 4, as required under the rules of the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers, such an offer would be satisfied in cash.

There can however be no certainty that a formal offer will be made or as to the other terms on which such an offer will be made.

A further announcement will be released as and when appropriate.

Dealing Disclosure Requirements

Under the provisions of Rule 8.3 of the City Code, any person who, alone or acting together with any other person(s) pursuant to an agreement or understanding (whether formal or informal) to acquire or control relevant securities of Macro 4, owns or controls, or becomes the owner or controller of, directly or indirectly, one per cent. or more of any class of securities of Macro 4 is required to disclose, by not later than 12.00 noon (London time) on the London business day following the date of the relevant transaction, dealings in such securities (or in any option in respect of, or derivative referenced to, any such securities) during the period to the date on which the Offer becomes or is declared unconditional as to acceptances or lapses or is otherwise withdrawn.

Under the provisions of Rule 8.1 of the City Code, all dealings in relevant securities of Macro 4 by UNICOM or 
Macro 4, or by any of their respective 'associates' (within the meaning of the City Code), must also be disclosed.

The definition of 'interest in securities' in Rule 8 in certain circumstances will include contracts for differences (and other cash settled derivatives) and will apply to any person who is interested in one per cent. or more of any class of relevant securities of Macro 4.  The timing for public disclosure of such interests will be extended to 3.30 p.m. (London time) on the London business day following the date of the relevant transaction.
