The Capital Pub Company PLC (the 'Company') was informed on 1 October that a pension fund of Clive Watson, a director of the Company, had, on 30 September 2008, purchased 60,000 ordinary shares of 50p each at 69.5p per share.

Following this share purchase, Clive Watson and his pension fund hold 1,608,258 Ordinary Shares representing 8.1 per cent. of the Company's total voting rights.
