FORMAL APPOINTMENT OF NEW GROUP FINANCE DIRECTOR TO BOARD

API Group plc, the specialist foils and packaging materials company, announced today that Chris Smith, who joined the company as Group Finance Director on 1st September 2008, was formally appointed to the Board at its meeting on 23 September 2008.

Prior to the commencement of his employment, Mr Smith acquired 38,235 one pence ordinary shares in the Company. Other than this declaration and the details of his previous directorships given in the Company's announcement of 1st September, there are no other matters which are required to be disclosed pursuant to paragraph (g) of Schedule 2 of the AIM Rules.
