Transaction in own shares

Nichols plc announces that on 8 July 2008 it purchased 200,000 ordinary shares of 10p each in the Company at a price of 215 pence per share. These shares will be held in Treasury. This purchase equates to approximately 0.5 per cent of the Company's issued share capital.

Following the purchase, the Company holds 325,667 of its ordinary shares in Treasury and has a total of 36,643 ,105 ordinary shares (excluding shares held in Treasury) in issue.
