Appointment of director

The board of Cagney Plc, the marketing services group, is pleased to announce the appointment, with immediate effect, of Kerry Simpson as a director of the Company.  

Kerry has been involved in the promotional marketing industry for 24 years and with Chris Walmsley was a co-founder of Cubo, the promotional marketing business acquired by Cagney in February 2006.  His career has included positions at CPM Field Marketing, Cerca Marketing (the promotional marketing division of Ted Bates), and LGM Marketing, working on integrated campaigns for major international brands.  Kerry holds 31,806,742 ordinary shares in the Company, comprising 14.6% of its issued share capital.  

Mr. Simpson said 'I have been very encouraged by the business opportunities which have opened up since becoming part of Cagney.  At Cubo we have worked extremely well with other companies within our group to offer broader solutions to both existing and new clients.  I am therefore delighted to be joining the Cagney board to help ensure that we build on these successes and continue to offer tailor-made and relevant solutions to the ever changing needs of our customers.'  

Steve Mattey, the Company's CEO said 'I'm delighted to welcome Kerry to the board of Cagney.  He brings vast experience in direct communications, and has the entrepreneurial outlook to business which will serve us well in the future.'  

David Kerry Simpson, aged 48, has three current directorships: Cubo Brand Communications Limited; Flasma Limited; and Yorkies Daycare, a company limited by guarantee.  

Within the last five years he was also a director of Level Best Limited and Topella Limited.  

There are no other matters to be disclosed in relation to Schedule 2 paragraph (g) of the AIM Rules.
