COE wins largest contract in 4 years, to provide IP surveillance system for Port of Singapore Authority
COE Group, the developer and supplier of integrated IP video surveillance systems, announces that it has signed a contract to renew completely the operational and security video systems of the Port of Singapore Authority (PSA). This win, after a lengthy competitive process, is COE's largest contract in 4 years. The PSA is the world's largest container transhipment hub and handled around 27 million containers last year.
The present project is for a 1,100 camera system and it is expected that it will largely be installed by the end of 2008 with potential for further expansions in future years.
This is COE's largest project win since 2004 and comes after a record breaking first 90 days of 2008 in which the Company previously announced that firm order intake had been the highest quarterly order intake in 4 years.
The COE system, to be provided through its local partner O'Connor's, is an integrated IP surveillance solution including COE's VMS control room software, X-Net Video Intelligence (Video Content Analysis) for increasing operator efficiency, and recording systems. Video transmission, camera control and redundancy are provided by COE's H.264 codecs and COE's X-Net fibre transmission system.
The X-Net Video Intelligence system results from a partnership with Agent-VI, a specialist in Video Content Analysis.
Andrew Wallace, CEO, said 'This win mainly comprises our new integrated IP systems, video analysis and H.264 codecs and we are delighted that customers rate them as highly as we do. As our largest order in 4 years, we have confidence that COE's latest products are at the top of their game in IP.'
