Announcement of Trading up date and interims

1st Dental Laboratories plc, is pleased to announce that it has appointed Nigel Spring (age 46) BSc (Hons) MBA IEng to its Board of Directors as Operations Director. 

Nigel joins 1st Dental with over fifteen years' senior management experience. Nigel's most recent position prior to his appointment at 1st Dental was the role of Managing Director with an aerospace precision engineering company which formed part of a larger plc. During Nigel's career he has held a variety of roles in operations management, programme management, and business improvement, these positions have been largely with Meggitt and Dunlop Aerospace. 

1st Dental, is also pleased to announce that it has appointed Roger Smallwood (age 41) ACMA to its Board of Directors as Finance Director. 

Roger joined 1st Dental in December 2007 as Group Financial Controller, and has now been promoted to Financial Director. Prior to working for 1st Dental, Roger worked for the Yorkshire Eye Hospital, a private eye hospital, as their Finance & Administration Manager. Before this, Roger worked predominantly in the multisite environment, firstly having trained & qualified with Forte Restaurants, his career extends to postions with the Shaftesbury Society, and with Charlie Browns Autocentres, as their Financial Controller.

Andrew Garner, 1st Dental Laboratories Chairman, said:

'We are delighted with the appointments; Nigel is fitting in very well and already making a real contribution. Nigel is responsible for the whole estate of sites with each Laboratory Manager reporting directly to him. 

Roger has been acting Finance Director since January and has successfully taken control of the finances of the company, proving in a very short period of time his ability to take on the role of Finance Director. I know I speak for the whole of the Management team in welcoming him aboard.

The Company plans a trading update towards the end of June, and will be announcing its interims on the 27th of August'

Nigel Spring is currently a director of Orange Blossom Beauty Limited. There are no previous directorships.
