NICHOLS PLC (the 'Company')


Transaction in own shares


Nichols plc announces that on 1 April 2008 it purchased 9,380 ordinary shares of
10p each in the Company at a price of 225 pence per share. These shares will be
held in Treasury. This purchase equates to approximately 0.03 per cent of the
Company's issued share capital.


Following the purchase, the Company holds 109,380 of its ordinary shares in
Treasury and has a total of 36,859,392 ordinary shares (excluding shares held in
Treasury) in issue.
