ADL plc ("ADL" or the "Company")


ADL, the owner and operator of residential care homes, announces with regret
the death of Peter Dewe-Mathews.

Mr Dewe-Mathews served as the Company's Chairman from its admission to AIM on
13 February 2004 until ill heath led him to step down from that position in
2007.  He remained a non-executive director of the Company until his death on
17 February 2008.

The directors recognise the enormous contribution made by Mr Dewe-Mathews to
the Company and extend their deepest sympathy to his family at this time.
