                              Zetex plc ('Zetex')

Zetex announces that in accordance with the terms of their letters of
appointment, varied to provide for the regular quarterly subscription of Zetex
shares utilising the part or all of the net amount of their quarterly cash fees
(after deduction of applicable income tax and national insurance deductions) for
services as non-executive directors of Zetex, E P Airey, M Geh, Professor M J
Norton, R E Venter and B Waite subscribed for a total of 48,567 ordinary shares
of 5p in Zetex on 20 December 2007 at 47.25p each (being the closing middle
market price on the day of allotment).

A listing application has been made for 48,567 ordinary shares of 5p each in
Zetex to be admitted to the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and to
trading on the London Stock Exchange. The shares will be issued fully paid and
will rank pari passu in all respects with the existing issued ordinary shares of
Zetex.
