Associated British Engineering PLC

At the Annual General Meeting of Associated British Engineering PLC today, the
Chairman, David Brown, made the following announcement;

'After an exceptional year in 2007 the current trading at its operating
subsidiary British Polar Engines Limited remains profitable, but the operating
profits are unlikely to reach last year's level.'

All resolutions at today's Annual General Meeting were duly passed.
