ANNOUNCEMENT


In accordance with the Listing Rules of the following Stock Exchanges on which
ZCCM - IH shares are trading, Lusaka Stock Exchange ( LuSE), London Stock
exchange (LSE) and Paris Bourse, the Board of ZCCM-IH announce the appointment
of  Mr. Joseph Mwansa Chikolwa as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ZCCM
- IH. The appointment is effective from 23rd October 2006.


Mr. Chikolwa joins ZCCM - IH from LuSE where he had been General Manager and CEO
from 2004. Apart from being involved in various activities and strategies to
promote the development and growth of the securities market in Zambia, Mr.
Chikolwa has a wide range of experience in Banking spanning 17 years mostly in
corporate Finance. He is a past President of Zambia Institute of Bankers.



Mr. Chikolwa has a degree in Economics from the University of Zambia, a Masters
Degree in Finance from the University of Wales, a financial Studies Diploma from
the Institute of Financial Services (IFS) of the UK and is a Fellow of the
Zambia Institute of Bankers as well as the Institute for Financial Services, UK.


The Board welcomes Mr Chikolwa to ZCCM -IH at a time when the Company has become
an active participant in the investment market and look forward to his vast
experience to enable us become even a more significant and preferred investor in
the mining and other sectors of the economy.
