NOTICE OF THE CLOSURE OF THE NMBZ HOLDINGS LIMITED ('NMBZ') SHARE REGISTER
Further to previous publications in the press, shareholders of NMBZ
('Shareholders') are hereby advised that NMBZ intends to undertake a rights
offer ('Rights Offer') to raise approximately $64 billion. The proceeds of this
Rights Offer will be applied towards the recapitalisation of NMB Bank Limited.
A document containing full details of the Rights Offer will be sent to
Shareholders in due course. Shareholders are advised that the record date
('Record Date') for the Rights Offer will be Friday 14 October 2005.

NMBZ share register closed (at 16:30 hours) Friday 14 October
Rights Offer opens; securities listed ex rights;
dealing commences in Letters of Allocation Monday 17 October
NMBZ register re-opens Monday 17 October
Last day for payment; Rights Offer closes
(at noon); postal receipts close (at 16:00 hours) Friday 28 October

• The above dates are subject to change and any amendments will be published
in the press
• All transactions in NMBZ Shares on the date of the Rights Offer will be for
immediate settlement
• Existing NMBZ Share Certificates will remain good for delivery, whilst new
share certificates will be distributed for the Rights Offer Shares as
indicated above
